Aberdeen takes Miriam with him, while the Oasis clan tries both to protect Minette and find a way to heal Miriam, but Minette has other plans and, after consulting with Shelley, she decides to go and meet Aberdeen, probably to give her core so that her dear friend can live. Meanwhile, the Tortilla sisters witness some strange eru phenomenon while trying to also find a solution to Miriam’s debilitating core.
This was a really moving episode, almost sweet while also sad. Leicester’s mother is just awesome, and I like how she comforted Minette, who had been trying to act strong, and how she, whatever Minette’s actual intentions are, actually told her “granddaughter” she wouldn’t intervene. Hard as that is for Leicester, she respects Minette’s will. I felt really sorry for Minette, I mean she almost brought me to tears! If she does nothing, Miriam might die, however if the only way to save her friend is give up her own life, she will make everyone sad, especially Leicester. Nothing is over yet however. Everyone is working hard to save Miriam and I’m sure we’ll get a very happy ending, an ending fitting to this really good anime, full of kindness and good will.
As I said last week, many anime are great because there are no truly evil people, but rather people who must take extreme decisions to save someone dear to them, and Minette asking Leicester to allow Miriam, Aberdeen and Avril to join the Oasis clan once Miriam is healed has two readings: first of all, which is very touching, she wants him to forgive them if she had to give her life to save Miriam. The second one is just telling us that everything will be alright and that, after all, both parties are working right now towards the same end, so friendship will prevail!
Meanwhile, the Tortilla sisters go on a trip to that place where eru flows backwards, and I’m sure they will bring back something really useful, although in the meantime they are stuck in front of a weird eru column that even Ritos finds worrying.
It is remarkable that in this touching episode we also got some nice fanservice and even humor, although I find that touching stories about friendship and benevolence can go surprisingly well with fanservice—of course, this is subjective, but for me ecchi stuff has more to do with friendship than, for example, action or violence. Therefore, here’s some fanservice shots from this episode, and, with two episodes left, I wonder if everything will be settled next episode and we’ll get a more light-hearted episode in two weeks, which would be the best option as far as I’m concerned.
This is so hot!!!
And of course, we can’t forget about Ritos’ trademark sexy pose:
