I guess we all remember the adventures of Senou Natsuru. Volume 6 of the light novels takes place just after the pajama party at Sakura’s house (episode 7 of the anime). However, other events in volume 5, such as the revelations -still unconfirmed- by the Lion plush toy that Kampfer are chosen to fight as representatives of some nobles from another dimension so they don’t have to fight themselves, or Natsuru being enticed to join the white Kampfer, are dealt with in the last episode of the anime.

Right now, Natsuru has two worries. First of all, having to go to class as both a boy and a girl means that he’s skipping 50% of the classes. Shizuku, however, tells him that since both girls and boys learn the same, all he has to do is take the exams… twice! (Poor Natsuru, I’m sure Shizuku, like the S she is, is enjoying this) About his low attendance, she will do something about it. What, Natsuru does not know. Indeed, Shizuku is fearsome.

Natsuru’s other worry is money. As he wonders what to do, because he always carelessly spends the money his parents send to him, Akane, our adorable girl with a double personality, overhears him and offers to cook dinner for him every day. Natsuru says it’s not necessary and Akane mutters that Mikoto (Natsuru’s osananajimi and of course also a kampfer) and Shizuku are always cooking for him however.

Natsuru tells us that he never imagined the girls would be like this… even worse that the boys. During his time on the girls’ side, he’s used to being groped, harassed, and girl Natsuru’s panties have no secrets for his female classmates. And if he has financial problems, nothing better than getting a job. Do you remember the class rep, vice-class rep and accountant trio, always trying to make profit out of Natsuru? Well, the class rep. tells Natsuru that her sister is in the nightlife business and she was impressed with Natsuru during the school festival, when Natsuru was made to dress as a maid, and would like her to get a part-time job in a… cabaret she runs. Of course, her little sister will get a commission.

Natsuru refuses but the class rep. asks him to at least meet her sister as they’ll be holding a party at her house… and it turns out that they persuaded Akane to serve the guests, so in the end Natsuru has no option but to go in order to support Akane.

Tired of the girls’ antics, after lunch break he goes to the boys’ side, where his perverted friend Higashida, member of the underground Pretty Girls Association (Natsuru remarks they work the same way as the French Resistance under nazi rule – given the anti-male stance of the old-fashioned school, a very clear reference to our beloved feminists), tells him that they are going to hold a party at the Honorary President’s house, and he made sure Natsuru, as the Special Advisor of the association, was invited as well. Of course, it turns out that the Honorary President is none other than the big sister of the girls’ class rep. So how is he supposed to go as both a girl and a boy?

Natsuru needs some advice, and the harakiri Tiger, Natsuru’s messenger, isn’t very helpful. Do you remember the Entrails Animals plush toys, who sound like famous seiyuu? According to the maker, these plush toys were designed thinking of the children’s future. Don’t ask me why!! Akane drops by and suggests, well… changing back and forth from being male Natsuru to female Natsuru during the party. Lame idea, but there’s nothing else he can do.

Girl Natsuru and Akane arrive at the house, which is pretty big. They are welcomed by the class rep. trio and the Honorary President. After a while, Akane and Natsuru say they have to go to the bathroom, where Natsuru becomes a boy. When he changes back to being a boy, unless he’s in his school uniform, he ends up naked, so he asks Akane to hide in the toilet, and for some reason that the completely clueless Natsuru can’t understand, she looks disappointed that she can’t see him naked. I wonder why…

He exits house without being seen and meets up with the guys who are arriving at the moment. Higashida introduces him as the famous “Special Advisor”, who has provided the Association with a lot of info about the girls, and many valuable and sexy pics, even of girl Natsuru (wow!) and they bow before him, as if they were some kind of cult or the yakuza. In fact, even the Honorary President has heard about Natsuru, so he’s pretty famous. But it is girl Natsuru who is really famous at the school, being one of the three beauties together with Sakura and Shizuku, and the boys of course want to meet her.

“She’s in the bathroom. She has a sudden onset of constipation, menstrual cramps and anal prolapse” says the class rep. to Natsuru’s horror, who decides to go to the bathroom and change into girl Natsuru, who returns only to have to serve the annoying guys, and the class rep. tells girl Natsuru to serve boy Natsuru when he comes back. “What’s that, self-service?” he mutters to himself. He offers to go and fetch boy Natsuru, who is apparently in the toilet, and funnily enough, when boy Natsuru comes back, girl Natsuru remains in the toilet!

They think that boy Natsuru is after girl Natsuru and Higashida asks him if it that’s not like cheating on Sakura Kaede, Natsuru’s love interest. Natsuru denies it, and the class rep. goes and says that girl Natsuru is above all interested in girls, above all cute girls. They thought that she was a lesbian, but it seems like now she’s after boy too.

“So the rumors were true” exclaims Higashida “I really wish she would use BDSM toys on me” says Natsuru’s M friend. The class rep. replies “Well, her fetishes are many, so it’s highly possible. Rumor has it she wants to even try doing it with animals”

You can imagine boy Natsuru’s reaction, and he just says he’ll go and bring girl Natsuru back, who returns only to hear the class rep. saying that girl Natsuru can’t serve the boys today. Why? “Because she just told me that this week she’s only after girls. In fact, it looks like she once “ate” three girls on one single day. Once she gets tired of girls, she’ll become interested in boys again, although she doesn’t usually get tired of girls easily” Thus, Natsuru ends up serving the class rep.’s sister, who tries to convince girl Natsuru to work for her. She’ll go as far as making her the club’s manager, because she’s very talented.

Things are starting to get very crazy, and the class rep.’s sister wants to talk to boy Natsuru now, since they believe he’s a friend of girl Natsuru. Natsuru has to change his gender over and over, always going to the bathroom, helped by Akane. In fact, even if boy Natsuru tries to say that girl Natsuru shouldn’t work in such a place, whenever girl Natsuru returns they say that boy Natsuru approved, and vice-versa! After a time, the class rep’s sister wants to talk to both at the same time, which is, well, slightly impossible.

Natsuru panics and runs to the bathroom. He’s starting to go crazy, and tries to get Akane to dress as boy Natsuru and pretend she’s him. Akane says that can’t work, but Natsuru won’t listen and tries to undress her, but they fall, with Natsuru ending up on top of Akane. At that moment, everyone comes in.

“Oh my! My house is being used as a love hotel, this is something new!” says the class rep’s sister excitedly. “Wow, now Natsuru is even trying to devour a classmate!” Despite the misunderstanding, things turn out well. “I’m sorry, but I can’t let you work at my club. You’d try to have your way with my customers. So well, enjoy your time, no need to hurry!” They close the door, and leave, commenting on girl Natsuru’s sexual appetite.

Reaction

One thing I’ve been loving is how rumors about girl Natsuru’s sexual appetite have spread when it turns out that Natsuru has done nothing at all, to the shame of all healthy men! From “devouring” young girls to BDSM, to zoophilia, and the poor guy can’t even have his way with his own haremettes. It always amuses me to no end, especially given the fact that half of the time boy Natsuru is there, hearing ridiculous rumors about his female self.

The association receives way more attention in the novels, which is really funny because it’s so over-the-top. They really work like some kind of cult or underground organization, and it’s often contrasted with the nazi system in the school, i.e. the belief that girls should never approach boys, which is taken to the absurd.

When asked by (boy) Natsuru why she’s the Honorary President, the class rep’s sister replies that she likes young girls, and the club has existed for a long time, although it was called the “Young Girls Club” back in the day, before the boys came, so it becomes clear that the association has a lot of support on the girls’ side too. Even Shizuku is said to know about it, and although she won’t approve of their actions, she finds its existance to be useful so she won’t act against them as long as they don’t step out of line. That’s what I call a fine ruler, Shizuku-sama, you’re the best!
