High School DxD is becoming my favorite anime of the Winter 2012 season!! The fanservice is awesome, Rias-sempai is awesome and we’re going right into the harem route.

So well, in the end Issei died and was resurrected as a devil… nay, as Rias-sempai’s little brother… and slave. Honestly, the whole S&M undertones are totally erotic. A hot oneesama dominant type, Rias, and her otouto (yes, I’m jealous!!) and now Issei himself who may get (some day~) the chance to get his own harem of slaves (so by the transitive property, they’d also be Rias’ slaves!! Doujinshis please!)… This series is really something! So I hear all you need to do is to die, then you are resurrected as a devil under Rias-sempai, and the Gremory family, protection? Honestly, and all you need to do is die?? This sounds too easy to be true!

And she puts on her sexy underwear in front of her slave. Well, he's just an slave (plus otouto) in the end. Honestly, this anime is more than just oppai (and who hates oppai? nobody). It has a very erotic flair to it.
So to make it short, apparently Issei had a not very welcome power, but now that he’s an official member of the Gremory family, not only fallen angels, but angels sent by God himself may be targeting them. As could be expected, the Occult club is just a cover for what they really do, but in the end it may not be that different from a normal school club except for all the master-slave relationship stuff.
More subtle (or not so subtle!) S&M hints!

As I already said, the fanservice is superb, especially Rias sempai who is shown naked half the episode, and her already trademark dark underwear… very fitting to a devil. Yeah, although now a nun appeared (just how many nuns are there in the 2D world?!), we can understand why being evil sounds so much more appealing than being good and following God’s path. I mean… Rias-sempai who, as a good devil, doesn’t seem too troubled by morals regarding sexuality. The potential here is enormous, but meanwhile Isseis’ first task as a devil just involved… talking about a certain Dragoso Ball series with an otaku. So otakus can make pacts with devils, something like your soul in exchange for getting a cute loli to cosplay? Where do I have to sign?
Yeah, I'd also have severe problems concentrating if I could stare at Rias-sama's camel toe~
Why do I have a feeling that will be me in 10 years, sans the loli devil?
Anyway, as usual what I fear from dark series (dark even in the literal sense, a lot of night and scenes in dark places) is lack of light-hearted plot, but here we have fanservice, harem and otakus. Also Issei was able to fend off a fallen angel, but the good news is this time the fallen angel was a hot oneechan. If you are going to get killed, better be by a hot girl!

Don’t let the horrible translation quality of the fansubs you seemed to base the review on mislead you. “Slave” is complete BS, it’s “Servant”. And Rias is about the kindest master you can think of.
I’m not being misled, I can understand Japanese, the word is 下僕 but I prefer the meaning of slave too in this context
“Slave” has a clearly denigrating connotation which is never justified by Rias’ behavior. Just the opposite, she’s calling him “ototo”. Heck, she’s even ASKING him if he’s fine with her calling him Issei.

Even with the possibly-excessive highlight on the ecchi bits, the story’s pretty good too. Also, The VA’s they chose really suit the characters imo.

I think the “actual” harem won’t begin until episode 12 or 13. I’ve read until vol2 and there’s lots of action in two volumes enough to fill an entire season.
I have spoiled myself on the novel too, and i gotta say, if they do it right this show’s gonna be(stay) awesome! But i think the scenes i want to see will be in OVA format on the last BD’s lots of month from now… if i’m lucky.
BTW, Sergio you gotta read the novels! Even if you dont post summaries, i promise you it’s good, it goes harem all the way.

Now THIS is how you do an ecchi harem protagonist! Issei is winning me over in ways I can't explain. The guy knows what he is and wants, is completely unapologetic about it, manages to show a strong personality despite NOT having a tragic backstory and his dream makes many of us who can only dream to be in his circumstances shed tender tears for his happiness. ..for he embodies what most of us would want to do in his position.(and even if so probably won't) He makes the best of the what life he gives him and heck, unlike other harem leads: he's actually pretty grateful for his new life. i haven't been this taken by a a harem protag since Yosuga no Sora's Haru.
