About this blog

I used to have a blog between 2007 and 2009 but I grew tired of it. I tended to write posts that were too long, and rant too much. Therefore, I switched to Twitter. I think Twitter has taught me to be a little briefer, which I appreciate a lot. Sometimes, however, I want to say things requiring more space than Twitter’s 140 characters. That’s the purpose of this blog, born in late January, 2010.

In July 2010 I revamped my blog, which is the version you are seeing now. Although most of the changes have to do with the visuals and the plug-ins I’ve been able to install, it is also clear by now that my blog, which I started without clear aims, has the following to offer:

• Regular episode summaries and impressions about current anime shows, in an upbeat, rant-free style, focusing on what makes us enjoy anime and not on what can disrupt this great experience
• Frequent, extended summaries of Japanese Light Novels. The light novel has become a very important medium in otaku culture, with many of the most popular anime in recent times being adaptations from light novels. Unfortunately, translating a light novel can be time- and resource-consuming, and this blog’s innovative approach is to offer extended summaries with detailed information about some of the most popular light novels in recent times while allowing for regular updates.
