“Kämpfer” Volume 12 (Part 4) – The End
Kaede is leaning on a certain stone statue. At her feet, Shizuku is still unconscious and tied up. Kaede asks Natsuru and Mikoto to look at the statue. It is the God that both the Red people and the Blue people worship. And what does it look like? Well, even if it’s some kind of alien thing, it resembles the Burned Lion, the first entrails animal. She also complains she doesn’t like having an audience (meaning the plush toys) and, after snapping her fingers, they fall down. She explains they are just a container, just meant to explain their duty to the kämpfer. It was just coincidence that they were chosen, it could have been, for example, birds or other animals. Although a certain small girl, when first saw the statue and realized it was very similar to the Burned Lion she had imagined, probably didn’t think it was a coincidence.

Since being a lucky bastard is just something circumstantial, if I had to say something good about Natsuru it is that he’s usually a laid-back guy, and that’s a good thing. I like people like that. Therefore, this is probably the first time that we see him losing his composure. Not able to go to the underground facility, having lost Akane, he’s desperate. He cries and starts to lose his mind. Mikoto tries to calm him down. Now, it’s the two of them. Akane has been seduced by Kaede and Shizuku is missing. If they don’t remain together, it might be the end. Fortunately, Natsuru trusts his osananajimi and cools down.

Oh, Natsuru-san, you came!
That’s Sakura, upon seeing Natsuru (girl version) Apparently this is the “good” Sakura speaking, and instead of greeting her, Shizuku hits the back of her head, making her lose consciousness. There’s a reason to this: she doesn’t want the “good” Sakura to see their kämpfer forms, so she tells them to undo them. Meanwhile, they don’t really feel comfortable being underground so they decide to get out of there. Natsuru is made to carry Kaede on his back, which makes him kinda happy (yes, he can feel her breasts on his back) They finally find the exit, and guess what! They are in Sakura’s house again, and the locked door where she claimed her parents were actually leads to the underground facility.

Shizuku stands before the tank containing her sempai, Shinomiya Tamiko. They always thought that the kämpfer who lost just disappeared, but apparently they were taken to this facility, but Shizuku guesses that there have been more kämpfer that there are in the facility, so they may be temporary held here before being taken elsewhere… maybe not even on Earth. Shizuku remembers the inscription, We are here: it may have been referring to the kämpfer who lost. Somehow, it makes Natsuru really not want to lose… after all, to end up like this in a tank isn’t very pleasing

“So well, you loli, where the fuck are we?” That’s, of course, Akane.
“Mrs. Dog who isn’t used to people, stop saying ‘loli’, Rika is already in junior high!”
“What the hell are you saying to a Peace Nobel Prize candidate?”
Akane gets angry and presses the butt of her gun against Rika’s head.
“It hurts! Rika isn’t a masochist” Awww, but you are into SM, aren’t you cute loli? Kaede being your mistress, that is.

Let’s go back to the point when the ceiling collapsed. Although Mikoto said she was OK, she was actually injured by the falling debris. And although she has difficulty walking, fortunately her kämpfer powers prevented the kind of serious wound that would have resulted in a normal person.

Finally, Natsuru has to face reality. Three girls like him, three girls confessed to him. Unusually for him, he says something sensible: Akane will have to wait, since it would be unfair for the other girls for him to reply now. But while Akane accepts this, she wants a kiss, she wants to deepen her relationship with him—both wild Akane and the normal Akane want this. Hasn’t Natsuru done it with the other girls as well? He mentions he kissed her other self, which may refer to one of the extra volumes, because I don’t remember

The last volume but one of this great series, Kämpfer 11 starts as Shizuku and Natsuru are swept away by the strong underground current. Natsuru desperately needs oxygen, not being in his kämpfer form with all the power ups that it implies, so Shizuku grabs his head and kisses him… performs mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, filling him with panic as usual. Fortunately, now that they are in some kind of underground facility, they get out of the water.

Sakura leads them to a room where they can leave their things. It’s an incredibly big house. While she isn’t there, Shizuku wants to make some things clear. Of course, they can’t trust Kaede and she’s sure that her supposed friend is up to something. No sign of the white kämpfer yet… or of her parents, whom Natsuru wants to meet to ask for their daughter’s hand.
But there’s something else that Shizuku wants to make sure that is absolutely clear.
“Will you stop thinking about Natsuru, Kondou-san?”

Poor Senou Natsuru has too many worries. Can you sympathize with him for a minute? It turns out that all of a sudden, two girls, namely Shizuku and Mikoto, confessed their love to him, and at long last it looks like he’s starting to accept that their feelings are real. So poor Natsuru, nobody would want to be in his shoes… right? Right???
