Kampfer Volume 6 - Natsuru harem

It turns out that Natsuru owns a cellphone. Problem is, it’s so old that the battery doesn’t last long so he often leaves the cellphone on the charger. He gets a call from Akane. Her voice is very loud, which is surprising. It turns out Mikoto told her about his date with Shizuku.

“I thought you only liked Kaede. So you like the kaichou too”

Lucky bastard. That's all I can say.

Those who watched the anime will remember that episode where Shizuku-sama and Natsuru go on a date. I gotta say that this is one of the funniest, because it’s so lame, dates I’ve seen. Recently, Natsuru has been wondering if he hasn’t been wasting his teenage years. After all, the media says so all the time. Young people go on dates, show off during sports festivals, and set their schools in fire. Well, let’s forget about the last one. Instead, Natsuru is -according to him- always being used and abused by everyone around him ever since he became a Kampfer.

And he doesn't get excited... seriously

Like every good harem lead… well, Natsuru fails as a harem lead, but anyway, Natsuru has an osananjimi called Kondou Mikoto, a very active girl who has been to the most exotic places, from the pyramids to the South American jungle, and apparently she even had some trouble with the Israeli Intelligence service. But she was skipping too much school and is back, and for some reason that Natsuru can’t understand, she often goes to his house to cook dinner for him, always curry by the way.

“Kampfer” Volume 6 (Part 1)

Kampfer volume 6 cover - Natsuru and Akane

I guess we all remember the adventures of Senou Natsuru. Volume 6 of the light novels takes place just after the pajama party at Sakura’s house (episode 7 of the anime). However, other events in volume 5, such as the revelations -still unconfirmed- by the Lion plush toy that Kampfer are chosen to fight as representatives of some nobles from another dimension so they don’t have to fight themselves, or Natsuru being enticed to join the white Kampfer, are dealt with in the last episode of the anime.

“Kämpfer” Volume 1

The probably most interesting thing is that the novel is narrated in the first person by Natsuru him(her-?)self, which was a really interesting change of perspective. So having access to his thoughts, he doesn’t seem as slow-witted as in the anime. He is quite aware of the things going out around him and can be really sarcastic at times. He also realized very quickly that there was a relationship between the creepy plushies and Sakura, who was giving them out.
