Exams hiatus

My university exams are starting next week, so in the following 2-3 weeks I will probably not post anything, or very little.

Once they are finished, I promised to write the BokuTomo vol 7 summaries. I was going to start, but I think I should focus on exams first.

You may follow me on Twitter or by some other miracle you may have stumbled upon this new post, but if you’re wondering, yes, I’m back.

No real drama or deep explanations, I’m back because I was bored and I decided that after all blogging about anime is a lot of fun. I’ve rested and now I will not try so hard to blog that I end up getting symptoms of burnout, and some other issues have been either solved or become irrelevant, so I’ve decided to give blogging another try.

Over 2,000,000 views

I’ve had several blogs (now defunct and so disgusting I don’t even want to think about them) since around ’04, but if you had told me one day that I’d be getting over 2,000,000 views one day, I wouldn’t have believed. It’s a number that really overwhelms me.

I think that nowadays my blog is in a sweet period. I’m getting around 8,000-10,000 views a day, especially now that I’m blogging more regularly, but in a more simple way. My anime posts are now shorter and go direct to the point, while I keep providing the vidcaps I love so much. Of course, I used to get more visits in the past, when Oreimo was airing, but to be honest, I feel that right now this is sweeter. There are hardly any controversies in my blog, no trolls, and a good atmosphere with many regular visitors.

New theme

Well, if everything is working alright, you should see now the new theme I’ve been working on for a few months.

It’s built on the default Wordpress 3 theme “TwentyTen“, and I had two very clear goals.

Results of the survey

Here are the results of the survey. I had two objectives with this survey. First of all, to get to know a little about my readers. The second one, I am planning on doing a few changes to my blog (currently developing a new theme), and also I’m considering focusing only on unique content, but I wanted to know what you thought.

Small announcement

I know that when you make such an announcement people tend to think of the worst case scenario, so calm down, this is not anything like those infamous “hiatus” or “moving on” posts. I have no intention whatsoever of closing down the blog in the future. So once we’ve calmed down, however, I have to announce that I will make a slight change in focus, but nothing too different from what I’ve been doing so far. Let’s think about it for a moment.
