Hidan no Aria—06

I’m loving the formula in Hidan no Aria: good thrilling action and romantic comedy antics. It’s a great way of blowing off some steam and preventing the show from becoming too serious.

And this time around we had awesome romcom antics… hell, a yandere versus a tsundere, this is really something, isn’t it? But don’t mistake it, Shirayuki is a yandere, but, although of course I could be wrong, she seems to be the “funny” or “kinder” yandere type. She just get extremely jealous and overprotective, but given the context of the series, where Aria can hold her ground against her, she’s more of the “comedy” yandere type than her getting a cleaver and murdering everyone.

A Channel—07

For those of us who, sadly, aren’t in school anymore, summer sounds almost mythical. Let’s face it, when you are in school, summer holidays have something special. More so here in Spain, where you get summer holidays from late June to mid September, making a totally epic period.

Over 2,000,000 views

I’ve had several blogs (now defunct and so disgusting I don’t even want to think about them) since around ’04, but if you had told me one day that I’d be getting over 2,000,000 views one day, I wouldn’t have believed. It’s a number that really overwhelms me.

I think that nowadays my blog is in a sweet period. I’m getting around 8,000-10,000 views a day, especially now that I’m blogging more regularly, but in a more simple way. My anime posts are now shorter and go direct to the point, while I keep providing the vidcaps I love so much. Of course, I used to get more visits in the past, when Oreimo was airing, but to be honest, I feel that right now this is sweeter. There are hardly any controversies in my blog, no trolls, and a good atmosphere with many regular visitors.

Dog Days—07

Whenever we encounter the theme of trying to avoid a seemingly unavoidable destiny, I always get the uncomfortable feeling that trying to do something about it is what might lead to it, while not doing something about it might just lead straight into it.

Leo’s plan seems to be simple: win and make sure Biscotti and Shinku don’t have any dangerous weapons (the rings passed down by her lineage) until the time of the prophecy passes without anything happening. Yet, Biscotti and Shinku could well win and Leo’s weapons might be the ones to cause the tragedy.

Oreimo Portable: Saori – (Part 6)

Some days go by and Kyousuke doesn’t hear from Saori; summer comiket arrives, and as Kuroneko and Kirino argue as usual, Kyousuke fantasizes about suddenly meeting a maid, love at first sight, things like that. He has become quite an otaku lately!

But instead of a maid (maybe he wanted to meet the bondage maid?) he meets Saori (ojousama version). She has very good news: her marriage has been canceled. She told her parents the truth about how she felt about the marriage, and they went as far as apologizing to her for trying to make her do something like that. But she was able to muster the courage to tell them thanks to Kyousuke.

Sengoku Otome—07

This episode rocked!! It’s like, they got tired of all those subtle (or not so subtle) yuri undertones and went all out. Yuri everywhere, Mitsuhide getting totally jealous of Hideyoshi and Nobunaga is not only a great ruler, but she also has her own yuri harem… at least as far as the play is concerned, and we all know that in anime, very often, a play = the truth. Because in the end Nobunaga has gathered all the lords around her. And, as I usually say, if history was like this, it’d be far more interesting!!

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai gets an anime!

Well, as some of you may know, an anime adaptation of the Boku Wa Tomodachi Ga Sukunai light novels, which I summarized some months ago, has been announced. If the seiyuus are the same as those in the upcoming drama CD (as usual with this type of novels, Drama CD seems to announce an anime), we have an awesome lineup (in brackets roles I liked/I’m familiar with)

IS: Infinite Stratos – Volume 2 (Part 2)

It’s time for training and Ichika is supposed, since he has a personal IS, to help the girls who will take turns using one of the school’s IS.

“I’m Aikawa Sayoka. I’m in the handball club and I like watching sports and jogging” says the first girl.

“Why are you introducing yourself?” asks Ichika.

The World God Only Knows—06

Of course, manga readers will know far better than I do, but I have a feeling that during Chihiro’s arc the theme of Keima and all the girls he’s left behind (in a way) has been pretty strong. I was already noticing it during the past episode, but this time Chihiro directly asked Keima if he had kissed a girl, which of course was true.

Astarotte no Omocha—06

A few conclusions from this episode:

1. Naoya is totally like Hayate from Hayate no Gotoku: nice guy who is always trying to help people.
2. Judith is totally awesome. I want her to put a collar on me damnit!!!!
3. Sometimes wearing pantsu might be a good thing, although only as long as you don’t end up wearing them all day. Girls should totally follow Asuha’s example.
